Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Aminent Labs (“Aminent Labs”, “we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the website aminentlabs.com and the orders and accounts created through it. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
We keep data collection deliberately narrow: we ask for what we need to take your order, run your account, provide support, and meet our legal obligations — and little else. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.
Our products are supplied strictly for in-vitro research and laboratory use. This policy concerns your data, not product use — for intended-use terms, see our Compliance and Disclaimer sections.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name and email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and verified email from Google; we do not receive your Google password.
- Order & shipping details — the items you order, your shipping name and address, and an optional institution or lab name.
- Communications — messages you send us through the contact form, support tickets, bulk-order enquiries, or email, and our replies.
- Newsletter — your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
Information collected automatically
- Technical & usage data — basic information your browser sends, such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed, used to operate, secure, and improve the site.
- Cookies & local storage — small pieces of data used for essential functions such as your login session, shopping cart, and age confirmation (see Cookies & tracking).
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and the site is not directed to anyone under 21 (see Other terms).
How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Process, fulfill, and deliver your orders, and keep you updated with confirmation, payment, shipping, and delivery notifications;
- Create and maintain your account, order history, and saved addresses;
- Provide customer support and respond to your enquiries;
- Send the newsletter you opted into, and (if you asked for one) reorder reminders — you can unsubscribe at any time;
- Protect the site and our customers by detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Comply with our legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations.
We rely on the lawful bases of performing our contract with you (fulfilling orders and accounts), your consent (marketing email), and our legitimate interests (security and improving the service), as applicable.
Cookies & tracking
We use a small number of essential cookies and browser storage items that the site needs to work — for example, to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and record that you confirmed your age. These cannot be switched off without breaking core functionality.
If bot-protection is enabled, a challenge provider (Cloudflare Turnstile) may set a short-lived token to tell humans from automated traffic.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are viewed and where visitors arrive from. Google Analytics sets its own non-essential cookies (such as _ga) and processes this usage data on our behalf. You can decline analytics by blocking these cookies in your browser, using a browser privacy setting / Global Privacy Control or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by browsing privately; declining analytics does not affect your ability to use the site or place an order.
What we don't do: we do not use third-party advertising cookies, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other websites for advertising.
Payments
Checkout is handled by a third-party cryptocurrency payment processor. When you pay, you are directed to the processor's secure hosted page, and the payment is completed there. We do not collect or store card numbers or wallet credentials on our servers. We receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded, along with the associated order and transaction reference, so we can fulfill your order and keep accurate records. The processor's own privacy terms govern the information you provide to it.
Text messages
What we send. If you give us a mobile number at checkout and tick the box, we send you transactional text messages about that order only — that we received your payment, and that your parcel has shipped. We do not send marketing or promotional texts, and we never name a product in a message.
Consent is optional. Ticking the box is not a condition of buying anything. You can order without giving us a number at all.
Stopping them. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. You can also clear the number from your account at any time. Message frequency depends on your order activity — typically no more than a few messages per order. Message and data rates may apply.
Who sees your number. Your mobile number is passed to our SMS carrier solely to deliver these messages. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with anyone for marketing purposes, and no third party receives them for their own use. US numbers only.
Data retention & security
Retention. We keep account and order records while your account is active and for as long as we need them to provide the service and to meet our tax, accounting, legal, and fraud-prevention obligations. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete or anonymize it.
Security. We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Passwords are stored as salted, iterated hashes — never in plain text. Session cookies are HttpOnly, Secure, and same-site. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; please use a strong, unique password and keep your account credentials confidential.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR and California's CCPA/CPRA — you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
- Delete your personal information, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations;
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and request a portable copy of the data you gave us;
- Opt out of marketing at any time — use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or contact us.
We do not sell personal information, so there is no sale to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, email support@aminentlabs.com from the address on your account; we may need to verify your identity before acting. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Other terms
Age requirement
This site and our products are intended only for qualified researchers, institutions, and businesses. You must be at least 21 years of age to create an account or place an order. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21; if you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
We operate from the United States, and your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. Data-protection laws in these countries may differ from those in your own; by using the site you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Third-party links
Our site and emails may link to other websites we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version on this page. Material changes will be made clearly available. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
